For Android phones
Signal Says shows your phone’s signal strength as a word you can read at a glance, instead of tiny bars: in your status bar, on a home-screen widget and in quick settings. Keep it plain, or make it say whatever you like.
Poor.Medium.Strong.
Or, if you prefer, “Absolute #@!%”.
There’s no account to make, no ads and no tracking. Signal Says doesn’t even need the internet. Your labels and your signal diary stay on your phone, and they’re gone if you uninstall.
Read the privacy policyYes. The status bar label, widgets, quick settings tile, signal diary and the built-in labels are all free, with no ads. A one-off payment of 99p unlocks writing your own labels and the ready-made suggestion sets.
No. Signal Says is for Android phones running Android 7.0 or later. iPhones do not let apps read the signal strength, so it cannot be made for iOS.
Hardly at all. Android tells the app when the signal changes, so it is not constantly checking. Most of the time it is simply waiting.
It uses Android's own signal level, the same one your phone uses to draw the bars, so the words always match what the bars would say. On 5G it also follows the network type your status bar shows.
Yes. Alongside the label, the notification and the app show the signal level, the network type (such as 4G or 5G) and the signal in dBm whenever your phone reports it.
Your labels are yours, so write whatever makes you laugh. The ready-made sets keep the language mild, and one says it all with #@!% instead.
No. There is no account, no ads and no tracking. Your labels and your signal diary stay on your phone and are never uploaded.
